Our Team

Meet the experts behind our company

Most of the Roadhead Farm Feeds team come from a farming background and have first-hand experience and knowledge of the delicate needs and demands of ruminant animals. Each individual employee within Roadhead Farm Feeds works as a key member of the team, with the aim of providing a first class service and product to every customer, every time.

Geoff Hewitt

Geoff Hewitt took over Roadhead Farm in 1996, buying the neighbouring Covington Mains farm at the same time in order to extend his dairy herd to 500. Having produced a quality feed for his own farm, he launched Roadhead Farm Feeds in 2003 in order to supply nutritious feeds to other local farmers. Geoff is a third generation farmer who originates from Ireland – the family moved to Scotland in 1982.

Geoff has a progressive attitude. He admits that he is delighted with the success of Roadhead Farm Feeds and the direct impact his feeds have had on the overall improvement of herd health and performance of his customers’ animals. Geoff oversees all aspects of the company, while being hands-on with day-to-day duties.

Aileen Hewitt

Aileen Hewitt oversees all aspects of Health and Safety within Roadhead Farm Feeds. In addition to running JA Hewitt farm accounts and cattle records, she is responsible for ensuring that Roadhead’s Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS) records are continually up-to-date – with emphasis on necessities such as the sampling of grain, etc.

Prior to working alongside her husband Geoff at Roadhead, Aileen worked in hotel management and within a factory environment for Boots. Aileen and Geoff have three children, Kerry, Fraser and Adam.

Sandy Wilson

Mill Manager Sandy Wilson has a highly respected background within the farming industry. He grew up on a dairy farm in Kintyre, prior to moving to Alberta, Canada, where he was a farm foreman and seed cleaning plant manager for a pedigreed seed grower for ten years.

Sandy joined Roadhead Farm Feeds in December 2010 and is directly responsible for mixing orders to customers’ specific requirements, monitoring and recording all raw materials, as well as coordinating all return loads from docks.

Julie Henderson

Julie was born and raised on a dairy farm South Lanarkshire. She joined Roadhead Farm Feeds in 2018 following a long and varied career within retail banking. Her vast experience means that she thoroughly understands the importance of quality customer service.

Isobel Brown

Isobel has been involved in farming all her life, some of you will already know Isobel from her former role as Livestock Insurance Specialist and Claims Manager for a local insurance agency.

Isobel hung up her insurance hat in 2018 to join the Roadhead Team. She is usually the first person you will speak with on calling Roadhead.

Annie Bryson

Some of you may already know, or will have met our youngest member of the Roadhead Team. Annie Bryson has plenty of feedmill experience having worked with LS Smellie at Strathaven for 8 years prior to joining Roadhead in 2019. Annie is farming born and bred and still helps out on the family dairy farm at Dykehead.
